Three weeks before processing the applications, the NSfK Secretariat will ask for the information about grants achieved from other sources/institutions. If the Secretariat does not receive an answer, the application will not be processed. In the case that such grants are achieved after this time, the NSfK Secretariat must be informed.

On Nordic relevance

A project is considered to have Nordic relevance when it involves researchers from two or more countries. Furthermore, when a project studies a problem or topic common to two or more Nordic countries, and data from two or more of them is used, it is considered to have Nordic relevance. A project involving only one Nordic country can also be considered to have Nordic relevance if the topic is unexplored in a majority of the Nordic countries or if the knowledge about the topic is limited in one country while it is extensive in the other countries.

Application period

The for NSfK grants opens on Monday October 30th, the application period being 30.10.-1.12.2017. The application period ends at 15.00 CET (Central European Time) on Friday December 1st 2017.

All the grant applications have to be submitted in the electronic NSfK application portal. You can register yourself as an applicant and access the portal via the link below.

grant applications can be submitted either in Scandinavian or in via the portal. In order to get acquainted with the application portal, we recommend everybody to log in to the portal in good time before the end of the application period.
